 Pappa-Pak Tutorials

This is our Pappa-Pak manual. These are tutorials will help you to be able to do things in the storeadmin (administration) part of your site. We often refer to this are as your "storeadmin". This is where you will be adding page content and products to your site. You can access your storeadmin by typing in http://www.yourdomain.com/storeadmin in your browser. Replace "yourdomain.com" with your own domain of course.

Click on the tutorial of your choice from the list below. If you don't see what you are looking for here, feel free to contact us and ask for a tutorial to be posted.

Please Note: If you are using AOL's browser when editing pages on your site, you must turn AOL's pop-up blockers off or the icons on the WYSIWYG editor will not function.

Instant Site Backup

Click the backup button below to back up your shop database information and page content. Note that this will back up only the database, and will not back up any other files, including additional pages, systems you've installed, web page templates, emails, or other server data.

It is recommended that you back up your database before and after making many changes to your pages or catalog, and keep a current copy both on your computer's hard drive and on a backup disk.

It is important to back up your database as often as possible, especially after making many changes.

To back up your system:

  1. If you have a table selection list, select the tables you wish to back up by holding down the Ctrl button while choosing your tables.
  2. If it is an option, select whether you want to save table information or just data.
  3. Click the `Create Database Backup` button. This will create a temporary file on your system.
  4. To download the file and save to your computer, click the database file, which will be in the format db_backup_MMDDYY.sql. On some systems, you may need to right mouse click and select `Save Target As...`, then save to a location on your computer.
  5. Keep the backups on your computer for safekeeping. If your web server ever crashes, you will be able to reload your database and you will not lose any information.
  6. Backups will be deleted when you navigate away from the backup area, so be sure to download the file to your computer after creating the backup file.

Backups will override any similar named backup. If you create two backups on the same day, only the last backup created will be saved.

Important Note: Every attempt has been made to create a backup procedure that is complete and functional. However, backups are not a promise of data security, and no guarantee can be made regarding the backup process. Please check all data before counting on it for restorations.
