How To Add A Product

Note About Images: For your product photos, you will need one larger image 400 to 600 pixels and for the thumbnail you will need a smaller version of that image 150 to 200 pixels. You will need to make those photos on your own before uploading. Here is a program to use to resize if you don't have one. PIXEL RESIZER

Click on Products under "E-Store" on the left hand side in your storeadmin.

Click on the Add button to add a new product.

Product Name & Description

Give the product a name. This example is for a Crocus Grove Bracelet.

Give the product a description. Be sure to use pertinent keywords in your
description that you can add to the keyword box below.

Search Engine Optimization

Add pertinent keywords that you pull from your description above.
This way search engines can compare your content to your keywords and index your products.

Give your product a Meta Title. This is for search engine purposes.
You can use the same name you used for the product itself.

Product Images

Click on the Upload button next to the Thumbnail URL box.

Click on the Browse button when the pop-up window appears.

Locate the image on your hard drive and then click on the Load Image button.

Click on the Add To Form button after the image has uploaded.
Don't shut this window down without clicking this button or your image URL will not be added.

You should now see the product thumbnail short URL in the Thumbnail Url box.

Do the same for the larger version of your image.

Optional Pop-Up Pages

Pop up pages are used to add a link in your item description to view more information.
For instance, if you want to let customers view a pop up page that shows all
the colors available and additional descriptions, you can add that page in the
pop-up pages area of your store admin and then select the page in your product area.

Note: To add a pop-up page link now, you would have had to make a pop-up page prior to adding your product. If you prefer not to use a pop-up page, simply add what you like in your product description above.

Pricing & Details

Catalog Numbers are optional and only show up in the products area of your storeadmin.

This is the regular price you want for the product you are adding. You must fill in a price.

Set a sale price ONLY if you want your product to show as "on sale".
That price will show up in red on your website so customers know at a glance that it is on sale.

This is how to turn your product on or off on your site. Set Active to Yes so it will show on your site.

If you want this product to show up on your main page as a "featured item", set this to Yes.

If you leave this box blank, the cart will not charge shipping for this item.

To manually set an item to out of stock, set this to Yes. Otherwise, leave it set at No.

Category Assignment

You can assign this product to up to 5 different categories.
For this example, I'm adding the product to just one category.

Click the Continue Button to move on to the next portion of adding your product.

Product Attributes (Optional)

If you want to offer your customer a choice of size, color etc, that is what the Product Attributes section is for.
To add attributes to your product such as a size or color selection, click on the Attribute Wizard link.

When the Attribute Wizard window pops up, fill out the info you want your customers
to see as options for your product. The Field Name is what the customer will
see next to the choice. In this case, we're giving the customer a size selection to choose from.

The Attribute Name is what the customer will see in the dropdown box.
If you will notice, you can add additional dollar amounts to charge
above your product price if you need to do that. Just put that additional
price in the Add'l Charge box. The number of Units has to do with shipping.
This will add the additional weight of your package to be configured in
the shipping cost or your product. Notice that we have only added
the Units number in for the larger bracelet size.

When you have completed filling in the selections you want to offer,
choose either Drop Down or Radio Button. If you choose Drop Down, a
drop down selection box will be available for your customer to choose the
above options. If you choose Radio Button, all options will be visible and each will
have a little radio button that the customer will need to check.

Then click on the Submit button.

You will see a window that says Attribute Wizard something like what is shown below.
Click on the Update Attributes link or what you have just added will not be added.

You should now see the Option #1 box filled out similar to what is shown below.
You can turn attributes on or off by selecting Yes or No for the "Active" dropdown.

Note: Pappa-Pak comes installed with at least 3 attribute areas available. If you need to add more than 3 options for your customers, click on Catalog Setup on the lower right in your store admin and set the "Item Options" from 1-20.

Click the Continue Button to move on to the next portion of adding your product.

Related Items (Optional)

If you are selling a matching necklace for this bracelet, you can choose that necklace from the dropdown menu as a Related Item. When a customer sees the bracelet on your site, towards the purchase button will be a link to this related item. This link leads customers to purchase the matching product you might have up for sale. This is optional.

Inventory Control

The Inventory Quantities is where you would tell the cart how many of this item you have available.
The cart will automatically take the item out of inventory when a customer purchases.
If there is no limit as to how much the customer can buy, leave the box blank.

Note: You can set a different quantity in each of the Qty boxes if you like.
Click the Continue button when you are finished.
Your product should now show up on your site.
